: I was a member of the 1953 California State Champion Military Drill
Team. The Civilian State Champion Drill Team that year was "The
Spanish Town Dons" They were spectacular. So were we. I marched in 39
performances all over northern California and we flew to the Texas
State Fair at Dallas and gave a performance outside the Cotton Bowl on
the day Oklahoma played Texas in the big football game of the year.
That year the drill team won 26 first places out of 27 with All
American Judges. I had my blue and gold Jacket for many years and
still have the emblem that was sewn on it. I am 77 years old now but
can still remember many of the songs we sang on the bus.
Darrel. I remember you and all of the songs. Do you remember: We're
a bunch of Basta__s, scum of the earth, Born in a who_e house, etc.
Remember Tex and CoTex and Ernie Barkhouse. Send me an email. Bob
