Hi. I am a therapist working with a Vietnam Era Vet who was in the
brig at Treasure Island. I would love to know anything else about it.
His stories are so horrific. His jaw was broken and he had trouble
eating, which is apparently how he finally got out. When I asked him
about Abu Ghraibe, he said he wasn't surprised! --Christine

Hi Mike,

: I came across your story and it fits a lot of what I
experienced in
: the brig in 1969, but differently. I was locked up there from August
: through October, and an initial weekend in April of that year, and I
: was beaten and kicked and clubbed unconscious the first time, and
one
: guy had his arm stomped on and broken. I saw one guy abused to the
: point of near starvation and he barely survived, and I have other
: stories. I have made contact with a few other guys that were locked
: up there and they all say they suffer from PTSD, and I think I do
too.

: Anyway, I am glad you wrote what you did and if possible I
would
: like to connect with you further and discuss some of what went on
: there and the Navy at that time and their attitude and cover-ups. I
: can't find anything regarding my time in the brig other than that I
: was there, but there was more and it's gone, I think. Maybe you can
: help dig some of this up.

: Thanks for letting others know the kind of situation that was
: happening then and there.

: Take care,

: Michael
