Pohli, who to this day remains the best and my favorite of any CO I worked for in the Navy.
Very few people knew my real name as I was always called 'Charlie'. I loved being at TI and
still have very found memories of my time with the Honor Guard. I Lived in the star barracks
and while I was there refinished the ceremonial rifles that we used to use. I spent a lot of time
visiting the museum and walking about the base. I left TI the end of 1979 to attend BE&E
school in San Diego and then DS school at Mare Island. God Speed to all who spent time on
TI.
Hello I also served On treasure Island Honor Guard in 81-82 . I remember the star barracks,
wild time. I did duty right out of HTFR welder school. Do you ever think about the duty that
you did in the Honor Guard, was the Honor Guard a signed to a security devision? Please mail
