anyone remember the old civilian instructor who kinda resembled 'Einstein' teaching class there? I remember EWC Levan and there was an EW1 from the Enterprise that I can't remember his name (Evans?) now but he smoked a pipe. The Master Chief who ran the school ended up at General Instruments with me in the 1980's, but I'm sure almost everyone is now gone. EWC Levan ran the 'active ECM' lab, we used to call him "chiefy weefy'

so many good guys in those classes. I roomed in 'E' wing with George Burkhardt who was a sub sailor converted to EW, he later moved to San Diego like many of us had after our tours of duty were over.

I remember the X.O. of the command got murdered one day, I just missed it as I had just passed him on his way out of the command building when he just minutes later got shot to death when he tried to intervene and save a girl from being kidnapped by her ex boyfriend. Very strange times at that enlisted club there.

I was in EW "A" school from June '73 to June '74. I enlisted on
: the Rent-a-Crow program, and had the full school there, both
: active and passive courses. Chief Mumy was the head of A school
: when I went through. There was an EW1 French that was one of the
: instructors as well. I've got our class pictures from A-1 phase,
: as well as the final A-4 phase as well. I'll have to look at them
: to see who my classmates were. From there I went to the USS
: Whipple DE1062 in Pearl Harbor, made one WestPac cruise. Then
: transferred to the USS Brownson DD868 in Mayport. Between the time
: I got my orders and transferred, they decided to decomission it,
: so I ended up on the Saratoga CV60. I did get SLQ-26 C school in
: Mayport in the summer of 1977, and made a couple of Med Cruises.
: Then I got out in Feb. '79. I'm sure we crossed paths at some time
: during our stay there.
