My wonderful memories of Treasure Island extend from my first visit to the World's Fair there in 1939. I returned again in 1940. All in all I made some 60 visits to the fair during those two years. One time I went with my Dad who took me to the hangar at the south end of the island. There we met "Wrong Way Corrigan" who was exhibiting his plane. Look him up at http://www.centennialofflight.gov/essay/Explorers_Record_Setters_and_Dar

In 1959, I reported to COM12 as Aide to the Commandant. My family and I lived in quarters on Yerba Buena Island. My children went to school at TI and we went there to the chapel for Sunday services. It was a great place to live.
