I have an Official Guide Book, the First Edition, and Copyright 1939 by San Francisco Bay Exposition. I found the book with many handwritten notations inside in black and red pencil. She may have visited the Fair on February 22nd, April 9th, June 18th, and June 25th in 1939. On one page, in particular, she wrote, “Afel and I went to the Fair July 7 – 1940,” a whole year later. This book lay among my late Aunt Mary's personal things that she left for me to “take of” after she passed on July 4, 2002. Lastly tucked inside it, there is a ticket stub with the number #F 176081, a 1940’s "Souvenir" of the Fair. On the back of it, there is another note written in pencil that reads, "Louise Ross and I went to Fair…Wed. July 21, 1940. It would be nice to talk to someone who knows about the Afel or Ms Ross' visits. You see, there is a little mystery in my aunt’s life, where she reclusively lived in San Francisco’s famous Marina District (Cow Hollow), for many years.
