I'm trying to establish a PTSD claim with the VA concerning an incident that took place late in '73 or early '74. I was in EW 'A' School at the time and was drinking at the EM Club one night when an EW student buddy and I decided to go to the city. While walking to the bus stop, we saw the bus heading for another and we started running. In a lot between buildings, we were attacked.
My buddy managed to keep his feet and got away. The first I knew of trouble was a boot to the chin knocking me flat on my back. Ten or so black marines, obvious from the haircuts, proceeded to kick me savagely and repeatedly, then simply walked away. I tried to stand and my insides exploded. Several people tried to help me after the attack, but I was taken to Oak Knoll by ambulance.
Unfortunately, I don't remember my buddy's name nor the identity of any of several witnesses.
