Hey everyone, sort of an unorthodox question here. My friend and I go to TI quite often since we're very interested in architecture, and since I'm an Army brat, I find a lot of familiarity driving around the barracks and all the streets that are set up in that uniquely governmentally-constructed way. I got to explain to my friend what a commissary and a PX are, and then found them to show him... driving through all the apartments that are still in use is a trip too, since those things look practically the same whether you're in CA, WA, MA, FL or Okinawa for that matter...

I'm an avid writer and had been thinking of writing a story about an army brat in his teens, and decided that TI would be the perfect setting for it, since it's it's own little isolated place but you've got one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world just right across the water.

So I was wondering if anyone who was there in their teens - or had teens who were there - could start a bit of dialogue with me about just the sort of daily happenings, what you did to keep entertained, etc. I was aiming to set the story in the mid 1980's so heck, if you were stationed there in the 80's that'd be great too.

Please email me and put Treasure Island in the title if you can help.
