: : I hope my memory serves correctly.....I seem to recall that LEROY NEIMAN designed and painted the mural depicting historical hightlights of the Navy/Marine Corps on the wall of the museum, as a background for the exhibits.

: The mural was painted in 1975 by Lowell Nesbitt and his students. Here's a picture of part of it.
